ANSA friends, take heart - the snow will come.  Every January tests our patience as snow lovers, then the snow comes and we ski.  In the mean time a little snow dance doesn't hurt.

The ice skating is delightful right now.  Taylor Pond is solid and glassy, as are many other lakes and ponds.  If you're a skate skier you might think about getting a pair of nordic skates for this time of year - short blades that have nordic ski bindings and can handle bumpy ice better than skates.  Akers sells them https://www.akers-ski.com/product/8890.html , and Boulder Nordic Sports in Portland usually have them as well.

While you're on the Akers web site, think about an easy on liquid ski wax to have for those sticky fresh snow days, so you'll glide without sticking.  Great for fishscale waxless skis.  https://www.akers-ski.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=51F100

When the snow comes, we are again hosting a community event with Nonstop Nordic on Sunday January 26.  This is a fun race that all are welcomed to join, and I'll be asking for volunteers to help host the event.

Snow snow come our way!
