About the Bill Koch Youth Ski Club

ANSA (also on Facebook) supports and provides the location for our Lewiston-Auburn Bill Koch Cross Country Ski Club. The ANSA trails are well maintained and groomed, and the area has parking and a Porta-Potty.
Rooted in the renowned Bill Koch method, our xc ski lessons for kids combine the joy of skiing with a structured approach to skill development. Named after the Olympic medalist Bill Koch, this method emphasizes a progressive learning experience, catering to all skill levels from beginners to advanced within the 5-13 age group. Participants will enjoy a mix of instructional sessions, games, playful races, and a chance to explore the beauty of winter landscapes while fostering a passion for this dynamic sport. The goal of our experienced volunteer coaches is to bring enthusiasm to each lesson, and promote Nordic skiing as a lifelong, healthy activity.
Lessons for the upcoming season will take place each Sunday from January 12th, 2024 through February 16th (with a make-up date of Feb 23nd due to lack of snow), from 1:30pm - 3:00pm at Auburn Nordic Ski Association, 1465 Perkins Ridge Rd, Auburn, ME 04210. Children aged 5 to 6 will have lessons from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. Children aged 7 to 13 have lessons from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
As part of the lesson program, children without skis/boots/poles will be able to borrow quality equipment for their lessons from the ANSA borrowing shed. In addition, each registrant will receive an annual membership to the New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) as our club is a NENSA affiliate.
The cost is:
- $50 for one child
- $75 for two children in the same household/family
- $100 for three children in the same household/family.
