ANSA and a group of dedicated volunteers provide a local Bill Koch XC Ski League for young skiers. Named for American Olympian William (Bill) Conrad Koch, this program gives kids a chance to spend time to play outdoors in the winter while learning to (Nordic) ski. Our Bill Koch XC ski lessons have grown steadily and it is inspiring to see and feel the energy that comes with getting 50 kids out skiing on a clear, crisp Sunday.
The Bill Koch Cross Country Ski League for kids, spanning 6 weeks starting Sunday, January 7th, 2024, is a fantastic opportunity for young skiers aged 5-13. This program focuses on introducing and enhancing cross-country skiing skills in a lively and engaging manner. Participants will enjoy a mix of instructional sessions, playful races, and a chance to explore the beauty of winter landscapes while fostering a passion for this dynamic sport.
Rooted in the renowned Bill Koch method, our Cross Country Ski League for kids combines the joy of skiing with a structured approach to skill development. Named after the Olympic medalist Bill Koch, this method emphasizes a progressive learning experience, catering to various skill levels within the 5-13 age group.
In the spirit of the Bill Koch method, our program places a strong emphasis on learning through play and fun. Through a variety of skill-building games and engaging activities, young skiers will discover the joy of skiing in a lighthearted and supportive environment. This approach not only enhances their technical abilities but also ensures that every participant develops a genuine enthusiasm for cross-country skiing, making the learning process both effective and enjoyable.
The lessons will take place every Sunday, January 7th, 2024 - February 11th, 2024 from 1:30pm - 3:00pm at Auburn Nordic Ski Association, 1465 Perkins Ridge Rd, Auburn, ME 04210.
