8 inches of fresh lovely snow fell here in West Auburn last night.  The field and several woods trails were rolled, including along Lapham Brook. Not enough for setting tracks.

Nordic skiing would be such a great way to be socially distanced!

Skating lanes will be groomed at 10AM this morning.  Please stay on groomed trails.  Skating conditions are very good!  This is the time to get out and practice if you are a beginning skater.  This may be the last grooming for awhile so get out there.

Trails groomed this AM.  Best skiing is on some loops in the field and the lower trails in the woods.  Upper Ken’s Drop and Lollipop (Pond Loop) are not groomed.  Conditions are quite good and skating should be excellent on some trails.  No track set due to lack of snow.  Please ski on groomed trails only and beware there are thin and icy spots.  Grooming will continue tomorrow morning once it warms up.

Ahh, such is the emotional roller coaster of Nordic skiing in the Maine winters. An initial forecast of 10” of snow ends up as almost 2 inches of rain. Blech.
